Volker Merschky and Simone Pfaff work together as tattoo artists, photographers, musicians, painters. In 1998 they opened „Buena Vista Tattoo Club“, a tattoo studio in Würzburg, Germany. In the beginning, they named all of their artwork ‚Trash Polka‘. Over time, ‚Trash Polka‘ began to form into a style, which influences and inspires tattoo artists from all over the world. Today ‚Trash Polka‘ is worldwide acknowledged as an independent style, and a registered trademark.
The common music project of Volker Merschky and Simone Pfaff „Dobbs Dead“ is morbid country folk („post mortem folk – for anti heroes“).
Their work as artists is exhibited in various national and international art galleries and museums in Paris, London, Hamburg, Rome and other cities.
